We Found A Turtle!!!!!!!!!!!

Early today the kids were in the creek looking for rocks, bugs and such. Well Joshua pick picked up a thing which he though was a rock and our neighbor Mr. Dan said that it was a turtle. We were all shocked we did not know that animals lived in our creek!!!! After Mr. Dan brought it up to the bank of the creek we started looking at it. Mom said that it was a box turtle, it was a male and that it was about 13-14 years old!!! I used to have a box turtle when I was about 5 or 6. That is why we no so much about them. Anyways I had my turtle about and month and then let it go back it the woods were I found it. Well after we put it on the bank all the kids crowed around it a started looking at it. Mom said if they sat really still and were quite that the turtle might come out and crawl around!!! Well they acutely sat really still and the turtle came out and looked at them, all the kids were really happy and excided!! Well after all the kids got done looking at it. We got a box from Mrs. Cara and I put some dirt in the box, the kids found some bugs and Mom show them how to make a home for it. Then they decide to name it Oscar and no he is in our garage!!! Back To School!!!

Today, was our first day back to school since Christmas break. It was actually a very good day. Hopefully, the rest of the school year will as good as today. Since, I was little my favorite subjects have been History and Science. Right now, in History I am learning about World War 2 and in Science I am learning about Chemistry. (I love mixing chemicals.) Both are really fun to learn about. This year I am also doing Shakespeare. So far, I have read only one of his plays which was “Mid Summers Nights Dream” it was very good. The next play I am reading is “Much Ado About Nothing”. Hopefully, it will be just as good as the first play I read. That is about all we are doing in school beside the normal stuff like Math, Reading, Writing and things like that. Post more later.

Did You Know!!!!

Hi Everyone,
Not much has been going on lately. So, I decide I would blog this post. Today, I was reading my Science book. Did you know that the woodpecker’s tongue does not connect to the back of its throat like most birds but connects to the top of its head? Did you know that the woodpecker also has a tissue between its head and its beak that acts like a little shock absorber which most birds do not have. The reason it has the little shock absorber is so that the woodpecker can peck a tree for hours without getting a headache. Also, the woodpecker has 4 toes. What's so cool about that you might ask. Well, 2 of its toes point forward and 2 point backward that is what allows the woodpecker to climb trees while other birds have to sit on a tree branches. Also, did you know that the male Emperor Penguin travels up to 90 miles to fine a mate. When the female lays her egg, the male takes the egg from her and the female goes away for 2 months to eat. When she comes back, she feeds her chicks a half digest fish and then the male goes away to eat. Then he comes back and feeds the chick. The mother and father penguins keep doing this until the chick is able to find food for itself. Did you know that the Empire Penguin is able to spot its mate and chick out of hundreds of penguins? In both of these animals, we can see 2 of God’s amazing creations. So uniquely designed in its on special way that only God could make them all. I am so glad God made us in His on image.

"Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."" Genesis 1:26

So far, we have showed Flat Timothy the Go-Cart and he has a bed in Andrew's Room. Hopefully, we will be able to do more with Flat Timothy before he leaves.

To Alaska We Go!!!

We are on our way to Alaska. Well, our Flat People are going to Alaska. If you have been following my Mom's Blog, then you have read that we are doing a Project called the "Flat Stanley Project". The reason we are off to Alaska is because they are having the is annual Iron Dog Snowmobile Race. An Iron Dog Race is like a Snow Dog Race except with a snowmobile. To find out more about this race go to http://www.irondog.org/. When we arrive in Alaska, we are going to get our own snowmobile team. The race will start on Feb. 10th and will end on Feb. 16th. When the race ends, we will be sent home with a picture of our team. I think it will be so cool to see what our flat people did while they were in Alaska. More to come on our trip to Alaska soon.

Our First Full Day of School

Today was our first day of school since Christmas break. Hopefully, we will all learn a lot this year including Mom. This year, I hope to excel in every subject. Andrew and I have started a new project called the Flat Stanley Project. Based on the book "Flat Stanley" by Jeff Brown. To find out more about the Project you can check out my Mom's blog http://www.lifeandhomeschooling.blogspot.com/ .She will be posting a lot on our project on her blog. Lately, my Mom has been working on writing up a schedule and a chore list as I like to call it. She put some of the schedule in action today and everything went really well. I am looking forward to the schedule (maybe not the chore list). I think, during the school year, our family really needs a schedule or we will not do anything. To check out our schedule, you can go to my Mom's blog.

Andrew Goes to Kindergarten

On August 13th, Andrew started kindergarten. Mom's plan was to homeschool him.
However, 2 days before school started , we learned that Andrew would have to attend public school until we could get our homeschooling documents from our accountability group.
Then we would have to get permission from our home state to homeschool Andrew.
Dad and Mom plan on leaving Andrew in school for now but they are in the process of getting approved to homeschool him. Mom is not liking Andrew being in school.
She misses him and is upset because she is not getting to teach Andrew.
My Mom doesn't like to miss anything we do. Andrew, on the other hand, is loving school.
Mom told him that she missed him and Andrew said, "I didn't miss you." Mom's feelings were hurt and Dad gave Andrew a talk about women and how easily their feelings get hurt.
Now, Andrew just tells Mom that he is glad he is home and that he had fun in school.
Andrew got his 6 week progress report today and he got everything satisfactory.
So,I think things are going well.
